always good to go out with a bang i’d say. after seventeen years my final vid. with the cure, then - hurrah! i still quite like it especially the part with the old high priest fellow at the end who looks like [laurence olivier on acid]. robert was pretty hesitant to dance with him and endearingly made an effort as you see. bob's like a wallflower virgin, oh bless. [guy ritchie] filmmaker and lover of irish tiddly-de music now famous for being mr. madonna was the runner on this vid'jo and it was just previous to “lock, stock and two smoking barrels” – he made the short film that led to that film by borrowing some of the short ends of 16mm film we had left over from this piece. or nicking as they'd say around his manor. doubtless it would be me fetching the coffees now – “is that three sugars, guy, sir?”
