the cure - "why can't i be you?" - april, 1987.

 

one of the last times i pissed myself, this. we were in dublin shooting - the cure were unable to come into england, suddenly. they were tax exiles. the choreographer was irish, very nice and probably more suited to doing aerobics. in a very strong irish accent, she kept counting them in: "aaand, wun and twoh and tree and fewr!" at first they were just skylarking about, being lads with their pints of lager and fags in mouths. but after a while things started getting serious and a great competition started between them for who could dance the best. the thing was they were all awful, with perhaps the notable exception of porl. it was when they became serious that i started to laugh and urine did literally bring moisture to me.
