the cure – lullaby – april, 1989.
the band did not like being dressed up like toy soldiers for this one and they were probably right. tho’ of course smithy had a good time a) because he spent the day in bed [his favourite place] b) as the spiderweb material used and he was underneath was basically glue whipped up into candyfloss. he enjoyed less the part where they removed it and vast quantities of his trademark haystack went awol. having rarely experienced his mouth’s interior i was struck by the lack of amalgams/fillings obviously because mrs. smith senior had not permitted him sweets or cream sodas as a child. once the endoscope lens was safely parked inside his mouth to get this shot i ever the pragmatist pointed out that we had obtained it from a hospital where it had been used in the bowel department.
