GQ Magazine says:
"If you've been enjoying the incredible shots of Mónica Cruz in Agent Provocateur's new campaign by Tim Pope, you're going to love the video. Watch 'Wilhelmina: Show Your True Self'... and just imagine whether director Tim Pope's facial expressions would match the awe of his fictional cameraman."
Wilhemina campaign hits the shop windows of Milano.
Neil is always such a laugh and is always very fun to work with. He likes to play characters I create. He was, of course, the first person ever to take me to the States in '83.
From Neil Young: ‘Tim Pope is the director from England who has made several of my personal favorite videos.'
The story follows Sheridan as she heads home to perform for the first time in the working men's club, where she had performed with her now recently deceased dad.
Bowie with Lou Reed. Say no more. What a joy to be around this show's inception and attending rehearsals.
ROBERT SMITH: "I told Pap the video should somehow capture the sort of claustrophobia you’d get if you were in a wardrobe that you couldn’t try to get out of too violently because you were on a cliff edge. And when it came to the day of the video we found he’d taken it rather literally, and we were to be immersed in water inside a wardrobe." (Robert Smith.)
Quote from BRIAN MAY about the video: "I find it pretty depressing. It's not rock 'n' roll, it's not glamorous. If you're honest, it's just like being an extra in Ben Hur."

BRIAN MAY: “Now, don’t get us started on this video.”
ROGER TAYLOR: “I think we look more stupid in this video than any other artist has ever looked in a video. Freddie’s wearing what we used to refer to as the giant Mediterranean prawn outfit. I don’t know if the director, Tim Pope, was taking the piss out of us. actually.”
"Tim Pope did a lot for me..." - IGGY POP.
Matt is someone I have worked with since 1985, starting with the 1985 album Infected. From 2002, I think this one is a vastly underrated song, filled with aching nostalgia, and beautifully melodic. Matt's dad, Eddy - a former landlord of the Two Puddings pub, Stratford, where Matt grew up - makes an appearance behind the pub bar, in which we filmed.
Psychedelic maggots, chop suey, Robert dancing with Laurence Olivier on LSD - all in all, one of my later-day favourite Cure videos.
